Specialty coffee is a product that stands for quality , sustainability and traceability . It is not just a cup of espresso, but the result of a process that is painstaking in every detail: from cultivation to roasting to extraction.
What is specialty coffee?
To be defined as specialty, a coffee must exceed 80 points out of 100 in the Specialty Coffee Association (SCA) classification. In addition to quality, specialty coffee is also ethical and sustainable coffee, which means it is free of defects, has distinctive flavor characteristics, and comes from selected plantations where it is grown using sustainable agricultural practices.
We roast only single-origin and fair-trade green coffee from Brazil, Rwanda, Colombia and Ecuador directly and visually in our store. This allows us to have full control over the freshness and flavor profile of each batch, ensuring the highest quality at all times.
Organoleptic properties
Specialty coffee offers a completely different sensory experience than industrial coffee. Forget the bitterness and burnt taste: here we are talking about fruity, floral, spicy and even chocolate or caramel notes, depending on the variety and processing method.
Our special blend is designed to enhance the natural sweetness of the beans and give a perfect balance of acidity, body and aromatic persistence.
Sustainability: a concrete commitment
In addition to quality, Specialty coffee is also ethical and sustainable coffee. The plantations from which our coffees are sourced are certified Specialty and Fairtrade, which means:
- No use of harmful pesticides or chemical fertilizers.
- Decent working conditions for farmers, with fair pay.
- Preservation of the ecosystem and local biodiversity.
We also make responsible choices in service: we use compostable cups and spoons that do not alter the taste of coffee and do not pollute the environment.
